Tutorial 1: Import a News Article

Let’s start with the most common import method - web articles.

Step-by-Step Process

1

Find a Suitable Article

Choose your first article:
  • Visit a news website in your target language
  • Look for articles 300-800 words long
  • Pick a topic you’re interested in
  • Recommended sites: BBC, El País (Spanish), Le Monde (French), Deutsche Welle (German)
2

Copy the Article URL

Get the web address:
  • Click in your browser’s address bar
  • Copy the full URL (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C)
  • Make sure it’s the article page, not the homepage
3

Open MyLang Reader Import

Access the import function:
  • Go to www.mylangreader.com
  • Look for the + Import button (usually floating or in toolbar)
  • Click “Import from URL”
4

Import the Article

Complete the import:
  • Paste your URL in the text field
  • The system will auto-detect the language (verify it’s correct)
  • Click “Import” and wait 10-30 seconds
  • Your article will appear in the reader interface

What to Expect

  • Processing Time
  • Content Quality
  • Simple articles: 10-20 seconds
  • Complex pages: 30-60 seconds
  • Very large articles: Up to 2 minutes
  • Failed imports: Try a different URL or report the issue
Try this now: Import your first article following these steps. Don’t worry about choosing the “perfect” article - practice with any interesting content you find.

Tutorial 2: Upload a Document

Now let’s try uploading a file from your computer.

Preparation

Good options for practice:
  • Short story or chapter (PDF or ePub)
  • Academic paper in your field
  • Business document or report
  • Personal document you want to read
File requirements:
  • PDF, ePub, .docx, or .txt format
  • Under 50MB (25MB for ePub)
  • Text-based rather than scanned images
For best results:
  • Use text-based PDFs rather than scanned documents
  • Ensure good image quality if using scanned PDFs
  • Remove excessive headers/footers if possible
  • Keep files under size limits
